IUL Strategic Plan
The Islamic University of Lebanon adopts a strategic plan that tackles five major social challenges through:
The university plan lies in the process of continuous and practical improvement through close collaboration between scientific research and career development, in order to promote the overlapping of complementary competencies and diverse skills.
The Islamic University of Lebanon has established several centers and committees to support its community such as INOVEC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship center), TLC, CBCC Training, Continuous learning and capacity building career center and TORC Tutorial and Orientation center. In addition, IUL guarantees the freedom of expression and the relevance of discussion and participation. For this reason, it has established a journal that covers many topics and it is open for all doctors to write and publish their works called the voice of the university (Sawt Eljameaa).
“Working with students over the past years made me realize just how much talent and creativity could go uncultivated in the absence of proper framework. Unquestionably, founding the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center at the Islamic University of Lebanon serves a rather decisive and compulsory objective; an objective that nurtures the spirit of creativity nationwide and unfastens the gates to welcome innovators of tomorrow.”
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center will serve to promote the culture of innovation and to produce an entrepreneurial environment not only at the Islamic University of Lebanon but also nationwide. This would help translate the ideas of young entrepreneurs into reality, and thus create products or services of outstanding commercial value that allow the university and its students to have effective access to the labor market. It would contribute towards offering solutions to problems related to poverty, environment, technology, sustainability, and renewable resources of energy in Lebanon and the Middle East.
The Islamic University of Lebanon established the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center with the aim of:
Semi-annual peer-reviewed academic journal
Published by the Islamic University of Lebanon
Emphasizing the importance of scientific research in enriching the cultural mission of the university, the concerned cadres of the Islamic University of Lebanon decided to accompany the foundation of the university with the establishment of specialized research centers, recognizing the nature of the mission of the Islamic University of Lebanon and its desired role in addressing societal problems and rationalizing effective solutions.
In order to implement the provisions of the statue of the university that aims to supervise and to develop the scientific research and to establish periodicals publishing peer-reviewed scientific researches, the university journal “Sawt Al-Jamiaa”- a semi-annual peer-reviewed journal – was issued after the constitution of its administrative and scientific cadres according to the decree of the presidency of the university No. 47 / 2008 date 10/02/2009.
The Journal “Sawt Al-Jamiaa” has published fourteen issues by the mid- year 2019, and the journal’s administration continues to send copies to Lebanese, Arab and foreign universities, and to academic, research, cultural, syndicalistic and political figures.
The editor-in-chief of the journal continues to receive specialized academic researches written by academic researchers in Lebanon, the Arab world and the world; many of which were published after being submitted to arbitration by the journal’s scientific committee.
It is worth mentioning that the journal has succeeded in obtaining the “Arab Citation & Impact Factor (ARCIF)” criteria, which conform with the scientific and international criteria that have more than 31 criteria.
Note: The issues of the journal are published on the website of the Islamic University of Lebanon.
As we are migrating to a new Era dominated by challenges at all levels, our main objective at the Islamic University of Lebanon is to offer a high-level teaching and learning environment that can respond to the new opportunities and challenges. We thus believe that each university member can contribute in driving the university to fulfill more and more achievements.
The Capacity Building Center at IUL is a place where the academic and administrative staff work in a collaborative and constructive environment to ensure a rich and engaged work experience. While the main objective of the center is to organize trainings and workshops for all university members, its main focus resides in motivating each member to improve his skills and work experience. The center holds the responsibility of promoting innovation and institutional effectiveness through the development of the professional qualifications of both educators and administrative staff.
On the other hand, the center relies on a continuous assessment and motivation system for all university members to evaluate the individual performance and encourage both the administrative and academic staff to continuously develop their knowledge and skills.
The Capacity Building Center deepens the interdependence between the university and individuals by identifying the training needs in various fields whose achievement leads to improving the scientific, practical and professional competencies of its staff, in implementation of the quality assurance policy in accordance with the local and international standards.
The center also aspires to the highest standards of achievement by adopting the latest methods, resources, and technologies in the field of education and training, thus contributing to develop the requisite capabilities of the academic and administrative staffs by linking the practical aspects with the applied reality.
The Academic Tutoring Center was established in alignment with the vision of the Islamic University of Lebanon, which aims to secure high-quality education for students by providing all the needed academic services following internationally approved standards.
The main role of the tutoring center is to guide IUL students throughout their education journey and guarantee their success at all academic levels.
Hence, the ATC leaves at the disposal of IUL students a structured mechanism for providing scholarly guidance, and equips students with the needed skillset and tools to resolve any obstacle that they might encounter.
At the Islamic University of Lebanon, Students will always have someone who listens to them and supports them throughout their academic journey.
The vision of the Tutoring Center at the Islamic University of Lebanon is to help students make a smoother transition to University life by providing them with academic guidance and counseling.
